The State Meteorological Agency forecasts light showers and a slight drop in temperatures across the Canary Islands for this Wednesday, with clearer skies expected by afternoon.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts variable weather conditions across the Canary Islands for this Wednesday, 19th June. In the northern parts of the islands, expect cloudy skies with the possibility of light, sporadic showers early in the morning, though conditions are expected to clear up by the afternoon. The remainder of the islands will see a mix of partly cloudy to clear skies throughout the day.


Temperature-wise, the north will experience a slight decrease in maximum temperatures while minimum temperatures will largely remain stable. Tenerife’s mountainous regions might see a minor drop in temperatures, whereas La Palma could witness a slight increase.

Wind patterns will be moderately strong from the northeast, with powerful gusts expected on the southeast and northwest slopes of the islands. These gusts could occasionally surpass 70 km/h, particularly during the afternoon. The high peaks of Tenerife are set to experience strong westerly winds during the morning hours.

In Gran Canaria’s northern region, there’s a chance of light showers during the early morning with skies clearing later in the day. Meanwhile, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience cloudy intervals during the morning and evening, with conditions expected to become partly cloudy as the day progresses.

Overall, maximum temperatures are anticipated to slightly to moderately decline, especially in the inland areas, with minimum temperatures seeing little change or a slight decrease. Temperature forecasts for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria predict a range between a maximum of 23ºC and a minimum of 19ºC.

Winds will generally be moderate from the northeast across the islands, with strong intervals expected on the southeastern and western slopes. There’s also a possibility of occasional gusts exceeding 70 km/h during the afternoon.
