If you’re planning to attend the Ed Sheeran concert in Tenerife, it’s important to note that the Cabildo of Tenerife, under the leadership of President Rosa Dávila, has announced enhancements to public transportation to accommodate the influx of attendees. This concert, marked as one of the year’s significant cultural events, will take place this Saturday at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López.
Rosa Dávila emphasized that preparations are complete for this major event, which reaffirms Tenerife’s status as a host for significant international gatherings. To support this, there will be increased services in both trams and buses. Specifically, Metrotenerife will adjust the frequency of Line 1 trams according to demand before and after the concert, and will add up to three extra trams if needed based on passenger volume at Line 1 stops.
Furthermore, Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa), which is operated by the Cabildo de Tenerife, is set to bolster the services of six key bus routes. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, urban routes such as lines 908, 934, and 936 will run with additional services at their regular times. For broader metropolitan access, routes like line 014, which connects Santa Cruz and La Laguna via La Cuesta, and line 232 (Santa Cruz Interchange to El Cardonal and La Gallega), will also see increased frequencies.
Additionally, line 111 will enhance its schedule to facilitate travel between the south of the island, including major tourist hubs like Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje, and the capital. For those coming from the north, connections are available at the La Laguna interchange to line 014, providing straightforward access to the concert venue.
It’s also worth noting that while these specific lines are being reinforced, other bus lines will operate according to their normal weekend schedules. This comprehensive enhancement of public transport services is aimed at ensuring that concertgoers can travel conveniently and safely to and from one of the most anticipated musical events of the year in Tenerife.
