The Canary Islands have ushered in July with overcast skies this Monday, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). However, the clouds are expected to clear as the day progresses.
In the northern parts of the archipelago, the day began with cloudy skies, which are anticipated to transition to cloudy intervals during the middle hours. An exception is Anaga, which will remain predominantly cloudy with a slight chance of light, occasional rain.
Across the rest of the Canary Islands, rain is unlikely throughout the day. However, the most significant weather feature will be the wind. A moderate northeast wind is expected, with strong gusts particularly on the southeastern slopes and in the far west. Gusts could exceed 70 km/h, especially in the latter part of the day. At the higher elevations, moderate westerly winds are forecast.
Temperature variations will be minimal, with maximum temperatures around 26 degrees Celsius in Tenerife and minimum temperatures dropping to about 16 degrees Celsius in El Hierro.
