The Canary Islands are set to experience a gradual decline in temperatures starting this saturday, according to the latest weather forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Despite this overall cooling trend, certain areas might still witness temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius, particularly on east and south-facing slopes.
For this Friday, the weather in the lower northern regions of the islands will largely be clear. Meanwhile, the wind patterns will feature trade winds with periods of stronger gusts affecting the eastern slopes, the northwest, and the southern facade of the metropolitan area during the afternoon. The southwest coasts will predominantly experience breezes, while the central peaks can expect northwesterly winds, which may intensify later in the day.

Over in Gran Canaria, the skies will be slightly cloudy to clear, with more cloud coverage expected in the lower northern areas. In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the western parts will see intervals of low clouds that might become more overcast towards the beginning and end of the day. The rest of these islands will remain clear, with some cloudiness expected in the eastern regions during the morning.
Temperature-wise, there will be a noticeable drop, especially in the midlands and on south-facing summits, although some areas might still see temperatures exceeding 30ºC. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the temperature is forecasted to fluctuate between a maximum of 25ºC and a minimum of 22ºC.

The wind will continue as trade wind with strong intervals and a low chance of occasional very strong gusts on southeast and northwest slopes. Breezes will prevail along the southwest coast, contributing to the varying weather conditions across the archipelago.
