The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has provided an updated weather forecast for the Canary Islands, indicating that this Saturday will bring a mix of cloudy skies, especially in the northern regions of the islands with greater relief and Lanzarote.
During the central hours of the day, the cloud cover is expected to break up slightly, but weak and occasional rainfall remains a possibility, particularly towards the evening. In other areas of the Canary Islands, the skies are expected to remain mostly clear.
Across Spain, Aemet has issued weather warnings for ten provinces, including heat, rain, and thunderstorms. Huesca (Aragon) faces an orange-level alert due to expected heavy rain from 14:00 onwards.

Heat warnings are in effect for several provinces including Córdoba, Huelva, Jaén, and Seville in Andalusia; Huesca, Teruel, and Zaragoza in Aragon; and Girona in Catalonia. Additionally, rain and thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Zaragoza, Teruel, and Huesca, with the potential for significant rainfall, particularly in Huesca.
The weather pattern for the day includes a front moving across the northern peninsula, bringing overcast skies and rain, particularly affecting Galicia, the Cantabrian region, and the upper Ebro area. These conditions are likely to persist throughout the day in some regions, with possible storm activity in the northeast, especially in Navarre, Aragon, and western Catalonia.
Meanwhile, the Canary Islands will continue to experience mostly cloudy conditions in the north, with some light, scattered precipitation. The rest of the islands should remain relatively clear. Aemet also notes the possibility of haze in the southern peninsula and Melilla, which is expected to increase throughout the day.

Regarding temperatures, Aemet forecasts a decrease in maximum temperatures in the northwest of the peninsula and in high areas of the Canary Islands. However, temperatures are expected to rise in the Gulf of Cádiz, eastern Cantabrian, the upper Ebro, and inland areas of the Valencian Community. The hottest areas will be Córdoba and Zaragoza, where temperatures could reach up to 39ºC, while Seville, Granada, Jaén, Murcia, and Toledo could see highs of around 37ºC.
Winds are expected to blow from the east and south in Mediterranean regions and the northeastern part of the peninsula, with westerly winds prevailing elsewhere. Strong intervals of wind are anticipated along the Galician coast, in the Empordà region, and in the Canary Islands, where trade winds will dominate.
Residents and visitors to the Canary Islands should prepare for a mix of cloudy weather and possible light rain, along with fluctuating temperatures and strong winds, especially in higher altitudes and coastal regions.
