The renowned American bachata band Aventura is set to perform this Friday, 13 September, at the Recinto Portuario de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in front of an expected crowd of 20,000 fans. The band, known for their influence in bringing bachata to the global stage, has nearly sold out all the tickets for this highly anticipated concert, marking their return to Tenerife after 17 years.
Aventura has already sold out every show on their Spanish tour, with performances in Malaga, Barcelona, and Madrid all reaching capacity. The final tickets for their Tenerife concert are available on the official websites www.aventuratoureuropa.com and www.masqlive.com. The excitement around their return was evident when 10,000 tickets were snapped up within just two hours of the concert announcement.
This event is supported by Promotur, the Cabildo de Tenerife, and the Sociedad de Desarrollo del Ayuntamiento de Santa Cruz. The band—comprised of Romeo, Lenny, Max, and Henry—is touring Spain with their ‘Cerrando Ciclos’ tour, a journey that resonates deeply with their fans, who have followed Aventura’s music across multiple generations. The tour is not just about the music but also about revisiting the nostalgia of their earlier hits.
Originating in New York, Aventura played a pivotal role in popularizing bachata—a genre that was once confined to the Dominican Republic—by blending local traditions with international urban styles. This fusion propelled them to become the “Kings of Bachata” (K.O.B.), allowing them to perform in hundreds of cities and iconic venues like Madison Square Garden and the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium.
Their influence and success have earned them nominations for prestigious awards, including the American Music Awards, Latin Grammy, Billboard Latin Music Awards, and Premio Lo Nuestro, solidifying their status as one of the most internationally recognized Latin groups of the past two decades.
Romeo Santos, who embarked on a successful solo career in 2012, and the rest of Aventura last toured just before the COVID-19 pandemic as part of their Immortal 2020 tour. This tour grossed $25.8 million and sold 189,000 tickets across 15 shows between February 5 and March 10 of that year, according to Billboard Boxscore.
Reflecting on the ‘Cerrando Ciclos’ tour, Romeo Santos stated, “This year, there is something I must accomplish and conclude. I want you to join me on a journey where I will be closing cycles for good. Remembering beautiful times is not the same as being a prisoner of the past. We cannot stagnate in the nostalgia of yesterday; we must move forward, discover new horizons, and reveal other facets of ourselves.”
