The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast a mixed weather pattern for this Friday across the Canary Islands, with a chance of showers in some areas.
In the north, the day will start with predominantly cloudy skies, which will tend to break up into intervals of cloudiness from midday, with clearer skies expected by the afternoon. However, some light and occasional rain cannot be ruled out in the northeast midlands during the early morning hours. For the rest of the islands, the weather is expected to be mostly clear or partly cloudy throughout the day.
Temperatures will remain stable, with highs reaching 28 degrees Celsius in Tenerife and lows dropping to 18 degrees Celsius on El Hierro.
The wind will blow moderately, with occasional strong gusts expected on the southeast and extreme northwest slopes, as well as at the summits in the early hours of the morning, where locally very strong gusts may occur.
In the north of Gran Canaria, cloudy conditions will prevail in the morning, transitioning to partly cloudy from midday, with clearer skies expected in the afternoon. There is a low chance of weak and occasional showers in the midlands during the early morning hours, while the rest of the island will remain mostly clear with some intervals of cloudiness in the east during the early hours.
For Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the forecast indicates generally clear skies with some cloudy intervals in the north and west in the early morning. A slight haze may appear at higher altitudes towards the end of the day.
Minimum temperatures will remain unchanged, while maximum temperatures are expected to rise slightly to moderately, especially in higher areas. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the maximum temperature will range between 26°C and 22°C.
Regarding the wind, moderate trade winds will blow strongly along the southeast and northwest slopes, as well as in the southern summits and midlands during the early morning hours, where locally very strong gusts are possible. On the summits, the wind will shift to a light to moderate easterly direction from the afternoon onwards.
