Following a summer dominated by heat, the arrival of the first rains has been a welcome relief for many in Tenerife, particularly in the northern regions, where the rainfall has been abundant. Despite the benefits, the downpours have caused some minor incidents, with landslides being reported in certain areas, such as the TF-21 near the Mirador de Humboldt.
Intense Rains in the North of Tenerife
The northern part of Tenerife has seen the most significant impact, with heavy rains causing disruptions. Landslides in certain areas have affected local roads, such as the TF-21. However, the rain has been welcomed by residents after a long dry spell.
Uneven Rain and Strong Winds in the South

In the south of Tenerife, towns such as El Rosario, Candelaria, and Güímar have also experienced rainfall, although it has been intermittent. The main issue in this region has been strong gusts of wind, which have accompanied the scattered showers. These winds have been particularly intense in some areas, adding to the challenges posed by the weather.
Among the areas most affected by rain was San Cristóbal de La Laguna, where over 30 litres per square metre were recorded on Saturday by Aemet’s weather stations. La Victoria also saw significant rainfall, accumulating 22.2 millimetres by 17:00.
Weather Forecast for Monday

The forecast for Monday predicts that the northern regions of the islands will continue to experience cloudy skies, with light to moderate showers, especially during the early afternoon. These rains may persist in the mid-altitude zones. In the rest of the islands, cloudy intervals are expected, with the possibility of light and sporadic showers.
Temperatures will remain stable, with maximums reaching 24 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santa Cruz de La Palma, and San Sebastián de La Gomera. Minimum temperatures are forecast to drop to 14 degrees in Valverde.
Winds will blow moderately from the north in Tenerife and from the northeast in the other islands, with strong gusts expected in the southeast and northwest regions. On the summits, there will be moderate northerly winds, with occasional strong gusts. Very strong winds are also possible on the central summits of Tenerife and La Gomera, as well as in mid-altitude areas near Arafo and Candelaria.
Gran Canaria and Other Islands

In Gran Canaria, the northern regions will experience cloudy skies and light to moderate showers until the early afternoon. The rest of the island will have cloudy intervals with a chance of light showers, although rainfall is less likely in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Temperatures will remain steady across the islands. Winds will blow moderately from the north, with strong gusts in the northwest of Gran Canaria. The summits will also experience moderate northerly winds, with the possibility of very strong gusts.
According to Aemet, this unsettled weather pattern will continue, and residents are advised to remain cautious, particularly in areas prone to strong winds and rain.
