The weather forecast for Sunday suggests that the Canary Islands will experience another day of rain, particularly in the northern regions of the larger islands. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), cloudy skies will dominate these areas, bringing light to moderate showers that could persist, especially in the mid-altitude zones.
General Weather Conditions
In the rest of the archipelago, cloudy intervals are expected, with the possibility of occasional light showers. While the rain may not be as persistent in these areas, scattered rainfall cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the islands. Winds will blow moderately from the northeast, intensifying at higher elevations and in the southeast and northwest parts of the islands. In these areas, particularly strong gusts of wind are possible, especially on the summits and exposed slopes.
Gran Canaria Forecast
In Gran Canaria, similar conditions are expected. The north of the island will see cloudy skies with light to moderate showers, which could be persistent in the midlands. Other areas of Gran Canaria will experience cloudy intervals and a chance of light showers. As with the rest of the archipelago, temperatures will remain stable.
Moderate northeast winds will be prevalent, with strong gusts likely on the summits and in the northwest, where locally very strong gusts are not out of the question.
Residents and visitors should prepare for another wet and windy day, especially in the northern and elevated areas of the islands, while keeping an eye on changing weather conditions.
