Urbaser has once again been recognised for its management and performance in terms of sustainability, this time by being awarded the Achilles Prize in the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance ) Evolution category.
Urbaser, a world leader in environmental solutions, received this recognition during the 1st Achilles ESG Awards Conference, held in Madrid. At the awards ceremony, the exceptional progress made by the company in its sustainability practices in recent months was highlighted, serving as an inspiration to the rest of the business world to be part of the change. This work was also thanked to the other companies nominated for the Achilles Awards in the same category -Baleària, Eurofins Iproma and iProspect Spain-.
Achilles is a benchmark company that analyses the compliance of supply chains with ESG regulations and has awarded Urbaser a score of 97.5 out of 100 compared to an average score of 45.4 for the total network analysed by Achilles.
Achilles knows that adopting these practices is not always easy and that it requires a great effort on the part of companies and their employees. For this reason, the entity supports and highlights, through this conference, those organisations that, like Urbaser, make an effort to comply with sustainability legislation and anticipate the regulatory challenges in this area through their corporate strategies.

In this sense, Urbaser’s Global Purchasing Department collaborates in the ESG improvement of its critical suppliers that form part of the Achilles community. ‘This allows us to advance in due diligence processes, in addition to optimising and improving the performance of our supply chain. Achilles is a benchmark company that analyses the compliance of supply chains with ESG regulations and has awarded Urbaser a score of 97.5 out of 100 for supply, integrating our suppliers into our strategy and sustainability objectives’, said Ricardo Pascual, Urbaser’s Purchasing Director.
In the words of Fatima Araluce, Sustainability Director at Urbaser and responsible, together with Ricardo Pascual, for collecting the Archilles Award during the gala, ‘it is a recognition of the work of all Urbaser professionals, who every day make everything work in the value chain to drive a real transformation towards the circular economy. We are really proud to be part of this change, taking responsibility for leading the way and raising standards in this sector, and connecting challenges with efficient solutions’.
