According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the Canary Islands can expect a day of variable weather conditions on Monday, 3 February 2025. While cloudy skies will dominate much of the day, there will be some regional differences, particularly regarding rainfall and wind patterns.
General Weather Overview
Cloud cover will persist through the middle of the day across the islands, though the highest peaks may remain relatively clear. Northern areas are likely to see occasional light rain, which may intensify locally to moderate levels in the northeastern midlands early in the day. However, as the afternoon progresses, rainfall is expected to subside, and clearer intervals should develop.
Temperature Outlook

Overall, temperatures are not expected to change significantly. Maximum temperatures might rise slightly in the central mountain ranges, but most areas will maintain stable readings. For example, Tenerife’s maximum temperature is predicted to reach 21ºC, while the lowest temperature—12ºC—is expected on El Hierro. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will likely range from 16ºC at night to 20ºC during the day.
Wind Conditions
Trade winds will blow at moderate speeds throughout the day, with occasional strong intervals on southeastern and northwestern slopes, as well as on the higher summits. Some peaks may experience particularly strong gusts early in the morning.
Island-Specific Forecasts

- Gran Canaria: The northern part of the island will start the day under heavy cloud cover with light rain, possibly moderate in the midlands. As the day goes on, the rain will diminish, and clearer skies will emerge. Elsewhere on the island, cloudy intervals in the morning will give way to partly cloudy skies by the afternoon.
- Lanzarote and Fuerteventura: In these islands, the early hours will bring mostly cloudy conditions, with a slight chance of light, scattered rain. By afternoon, cloud cover is expected to break up, resulting in largely clear skies.
Monday’s weather in the Canary Islands will be characterised by a mix of clouds, occasional rainfall, and moderate trade winds. Temperatures will remain stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain areas. As the day progresses, conditions are expected to improve, with clearer skies and diminishing rainfall.
