Cloudy skies and light rain forecast for Monday in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are set to begin the week under mostly cloudy skies and light rain, according to Aemet’s updated forecast for Monday.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has brought forward its forecast for Monday, indicating that the Canary Islands will experience predominantly cloudy weather, with the possibility of light rain in certain areas.


In the interior regions on the southern slopes, cloud cover is expected to increase as the day progresses, and light, scattered showers cannot be ruled out. Meanwhile, the northern areas of the islands are likely to remain consistently overcast, with light rain probable throughout the day.

Temperature and Wind Outlook

Temperatures will remain fairly stable, with daytime highs reaching 23°C in Tenerife and overnight lows of 12°C in El Hierro. Winds will blow light to moderate from the north, with occasional stronger gusts in the far western parts of the archipelago.

Forecast for the Eastern Province

Across the eastern province, including Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, similar conditions are expected. Cloudy intervals will dominate, gradually increasing to more sustained cloud cover by the afternoon, particularly over the southern interior of Gran Canaria, where light rainfall may occur.

The north of Gran Canaria is also forecast to experience continued cloud cover, with isolated light showers likely.

Temperatures in this region will remain unchanged, with highs of 23°C in Gran Canaria and lows of 16°C in Lanzarote. Winds will be moderate from the north, with strong intervals expected in western and southeastern areas.
