Red Moon Yard unveils new single ‘She’ featuring Álvaro Urquijo: A fusion of rock, emotion and spirituality

Red Moon Yard returns with a powerful new single, offering a preview of their upcoming album through an emotional collaboration with Álvaro Urquijo.

Following the January release of Lama Song, Red Moon Yard returns with a new single, She, offering a second glimpse into their forthcoming album Intineri. In this latest track, the world’s first Buddhist rock band continues to shape their unique sound by blending indie folk and classic rock influences—this time with a very special guest: Álvaro Urquijo, the legendary frontman of Spanish pop-rock icons Los Secretos.

A Collaboration That Blends Generations

She, originally released as a solo version in September 2024, now gains new depth with Urquijo’s unmistakable voice and signature guitar style. The song is a reflective, emotion-laden ballad wrapped in delicate guitar melodies, rich instrumentation, and lyrics that invite listeners to pause and connect with their inner world.

“From the moment we wrote She, we knew there was something special about it,” said Marcos Fernández, vocalist and founder of Red Moon Yard. “When Álvaro agreed to collaborate, it became something much greater. His voice adds the nostalgic and authentic tone the song needed.”

Urquijo, known for timeless hits like Déjame, Pero a tu lado and Ojos de gata, didn’t just lend his vocals. “When Marcos played She for me, it immediately felt like a Los Secretos song,” Urquijo shared. “I wanted to honour that spirit, so I added some touches with my 12-string guitar and vocals. The result, I think, is beautiful. It was a joy to collaborate with a band that has such a different and refreshing style.”

An Album Rooted in Rock and Mindfulness

She is the second preview of Intineri, Red Moon Yard’s second studio album, set for release in May 2025. Produced by Man Tomás and mastered in Portland by Grammy-winning engineer Adam Ayan, the album promises a rich blend of American rock, indie folk, and Buddhist philosophy, drawing influence from artists such as Pink Floyd, Van Morrison, Wilco and Ray LaMontagne.

The band’s debut album Pureland marked a bold introduction to their musical and spiritual vision. With Intineri, Red Moon Yard further refines their message, offering a soundscape that seeks not just to entertain, but to enlighten.

About Red Moon Yard and Marcos Fernández

Red Moon Yard was founded in 2024 by Marcos Fernández Fermoselle, a Cuban-born musician (Guantánamo, 1962) with a fascinating and unconventional path. After a successful career in business—including serving as president of Real Valladolid F.C. and running the real estate firm Parquesol—Marcos left corporate life behind to follow his lifelong passion for music.

Deeply committed to Buddhist practice for over 30 years, Marcos conceived Red Moon Yard as a spiritual and musical project—a band where rock becomes a vehicle for inner reflection and growth.

With Intineri, Red Moon Yard continues their journey, creating music that bridges generations and genres, while offering a message of introspection, peace and emotional resonance.
