A wave of music and culture has been sweeping through the Canary Islands with the launch of the 8 Islas Life Festival – a vibrant, travelling event celebrating international artistry against the stunning backdrop of the archipelago’s diverse landscapes. This festival offers a year-long cultural journey across the islands, combining music, nature, and heritage under the banner: “Come for the music, stay for the magic. Discover volcanic landscapes, idyllic beaches, and rich cultural history.”


A Festival Across Eight Islands

The 8 Islas Life Festival is a multidisciplinary, inclusive and international celebration of music and performance. It will run throughout the year, with events held in emblematic venues across the Canary Islands. The festival’s mission is to connect global audiences with a wide range of musical styles – from soulful rhythms to classical precision – and to enhance the Canary Islands’ profile as a cultural destination.

Promoted by Turismo de Canarias (Promotur) and the Instituto Canario de Desarrollo Cultural (ICDC), the festival has partnered with leading cultural producers, Makaron Gestión y Proyectos Culturales and Búho Management, to curate a compelling line-up of performances for all tastes and ages.

  • 4 May – Mariza (Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, Gran Canaria)
    The undisputed voice of modern fado, Mariza will perform songs from her latest album Amor, continuing her legacy as the most celebrated Portuguese singer of her generation.
  • 10 May – Wim Mertens (Auditorio de Tenerife)
    Belgian composer and pianist Wim Mertens, known for his prolific career spanning over 70 albums, will present his latest work Ranges of Robustness alongside selected classics such as Struggle for Pleasure and The Scene.
  • 17 May – Myles Sanko (Teatro Leal, Tenerife)
    British-Ghanaian soul singer Myles Sanko, hailed for his smooth, uplifting performances, brings his emotionally rich album Let It Unfold to life in a soulful evening that blends jazz, groove, and introspection.
