The haze won’t be the only weather concern this Friday in the Canary Islands

This Friday, the Canary Islands will face haze, clouds, and strong gusts, with stable temperatures and possible rough seas in some areas.

This Friday, the Canary Islands will experience a combination of meteorological conditions: continued presence of calima (haze), partly cloudy skies, and strong gusts of wind in various zones. According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), light haze at high altitudes will mainly affect the easternmost islands, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, although it is expected to clear by the end of the day.

Across the archipelago, temperatures will remain stable, with only minor fluctuations, while winds from the north or northeast will intensify in exposed areas.

Maritime Conditions

At sea, north to north-easterly winds of force 4 to 5 are forecast in the southeast and northwest maritime zones, producing heavy swells. In the northeast, winds will be slightly lighter (force 3 to 4), with moderate to heavy wave conditions. A southerly swell of approximately one metre is also expected from early morning, temporarily reducing visibility in some coastal zones.
