The heat and haze persist in the Canary Islands

The heat and haze persist across the Canary Islands, with temperatures up to 36°C expected.

The heatwave continues across the Canary Islands with no sign of relief, and the haze lingers as well. According to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), light haze (calima) is expected at high altitudes this Tuesday, while maximum temperatures could locally reach between 34°C and 36°C in the southern and western midland areas. In many of these regions, nighttime temperatures will remain above 24°C.

Temperatures are expected to stay steady or drop slightly on the northern and eastern slopes of the islands.

General Weather Conditions

Skies will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy, with cloudy intervals likely along northern coasts, especially in the early morning and late afternoon.
The trade winds will blow occasionally with force across the southeast and extreme northwest slopes, while breezes will predominate in the southwest of the mountainous islands.
