Santa Cruz de Tenerife adds a new benchmark in aesthetic medicine with the opening of the second Doctor Blas García Clinic centre, located in Plaza de los Patos, in the building that housed the former Castelo Pharmacy. The presentation ceremony took place last Friday at the Hotel Mencey, attended by professionals from the sector, artists and institutional representatives.

The clinic is located in a historic building designed by architect Mariano Estanga. Restored with respect for its heritage value, the building now houses a project that transcends the medical to become a comprehensive aesthetic experience.

A concept that goes beyond medicine

Under the medical direction of Dr Nélida Díaz, a specialist in facial aesthetic medicine, the space has become the most advanced in the Canary Islands in terms of laser technology applied to non-invasive treatments. It also functions as a contemporary art museum, with works that dialogue with the building’s modernist architecture. “Every face has a story. Our work is not only to beautify, but also to accompany the person in their process of inner transformation,” says Dr. Díaz, whose career combines scientific rigour with clinical sensitivity.

Blas García: surgery with an artistic vocation

Dr. Blas García, founder of the clinics that bear his name, is considered one of the leading experts in ultrasonic rhinoplasty internationally. His career includes more than 3,000 operations and awards such as the European Medical Award for Best Rhinoplasty Surgeon in Europe for three consecutive years.

‘A good surgeon must have skill, but also enormous artistic development,’ he says. This philosophy is reflected in every corner of the centre, where aesthetics are not limited to the medical result, but extend to the environment, the human touch and the patient experience.

Trained at the University of Córdoba and with stays in the United States, Mexico and Brazil, Dr. García introduced the technique of ultrasonic rhinoplasty to Spain in 2016, revolutionising nasal surgery with a less invasive and more precise approach.

Technology, art and heritage

The building that houses the clinic was restored to preserve its original features. This architectural restoration makes the centre a place where history meets the avant-garde.

Contemporary art is not a decorative addition, but an integral part of the project. The works on display in the waiting rooms and common areas are selected to create an atmosphere of contemplation, beauty and serenity.

Cutting-edge aesthetic medicine

The centre offers personalised treatments such as mesotherapy, neurotoxins for wrinkles, facial fillers, platelet-rich plasma and chemical peels, all performed with state-of-the-art equipment. The facilities are equipped for minor outpatient surgery, ensuring safety and comfort.

The incorporation of state-of-the-art laser technology allows procedures such as facial rejuvenation, spot removal, vascularisation, medical hair removal and skin remodelling to be performed with maximum precision.

A transformative experience

From the first consultation, patients are welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The medical team analyses each case in detail, proposing solutions that respect each person’s identity and wishes.

‘We seek natural results, but we also want to help our patients experience an inner rebirth after their external change,’ says Dr. García.

The opening of this second centre marks a milestone in aesthetic medicine in the Canary Islands. It is a space where the most advanced technology is put at the service of human sensitivity, where historical architecture becomes the setting for transformation, and where art accompanies every step of the process.

In the words of Dr. García himself: ‘Beauty is not a destination, it is a journey. And this centre is an invitation to travel that journey with respect, artistry and science.’
