Aemet activates new weather warnings in the Canary Islands

Aemet has issued a yellow warning for coastal phenomena in the Canary Islands starting Wednesday.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow warning for coastal phenomena throughout the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The alert, announced on Monday, will come into effect on Wednesday, as unstable weather conditions affect several areas of the archipelago.

Forecast for Monday

On Monday, skies will show cloudy intervals in the north of the islands, mainly in the early and late hours. The rest of the archipelago will experience slightly cloudy or clear conditions.

  • Temperatures: Largely stable, with slight decreases in some areas.
  • Wind: Moderate northeast winds, occasionally strong in the southeast and northwest of Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and El Hierro.
