Aemet updates weather forecast for the Canary Islands: Haze and intense heat return

Aemet warns of rising heat, light haze and strong gusty winds across the Canary Islands.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued an updated forecast for the Canary Islands for the coming hours, warning of the return of haze at high altitudes and rising temperatures across much of the archipelago.

General Outlook

Skies will remain mostly clear with some cloud intervals in the north, accompanied by light haze at higher levels of the atmosphere.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly, particularly in the midlands, with values ranging from 28ºC in Tenerife to 16ºC in El Hierro.

The presence of the DANA Alice has led Aemet to maintain a special weather advisory from this Wednesday due to its potential effects on the region.

Wind Conditions

The trade winds will dominate, blowing from the northeast with strong intervals and occasional very strong gusts along the southeast and extreme northwest slopes. These gusts are expected to ease as the day progresses.
On the mountain peaks, winds will be lighter, coming from an easterly direction.
