Rain possible in the Canary Islands on Monday, says Aemet

Light rain possible and temperatures rising slightly as the Canary Islands begin the week under partly cloudy skies, according to Aemet.

The archipelago will start the week under partly cloudy skies and slightly higher temperatures, according to the latest forecast from Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The Aemet has updated its weather outlook for Monday, 20 October 2025, indicating a day of variable cloudiness across the islands. In the higher-altitude areas of the archipelago, particularly on the mountainous islands, light rainfall may occur overnight, while Lanzarote and Fuerteventura can expect cloudy intervals and only a low chance of drizzle later in the evening.

Western Islands Most Likely to See Rain

Rain possible in the Canary Islands on Monday, says Aemet

In the western province, which includes La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, Aemet does not rule out light showers during the night in the northeast, and in the southern slopes as the day progresses.

For the province of Las Palmas, encompassing Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, the probability of rain remains low, although brief precipitation could appear on southern hillsides.

Temperatures to Edge Up Slightly

Temperatures will remain largely stable, with a slight rise in maximum values. The highest readings may reach around 27°C in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, while minimum temperatures will hover near 22°C across much of the archipelago.

Winds will generally be light to moderate, with northeasterly breezes prevailing, typical for this time of year.

A Calm Start to the Week

Overall, Monday’s forecast points to a calm and mild start to the week, with only isolated areas likely to see rain. While the skies may bring some occasional drizzle, Aemet does not anticipate any significant weather disruptions — a reminder of the Canarian autumn’s changeable yet gentle character.
