The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is forecasting unusually high temperatures for the Canary Islands this Monday, with a weather pattern more typical of summer than autumn. According to the latest bulletin, the day will be characterised by mostly clear skies, occasionally accompanied by thin layers of high cloud.
In terms of temperatures, Aemet warns that the heat will be particularly noticeable in mid-altitude and coastal areas, where values may exceed 30 °C. The highest temperatures are expected on Tenerife, where the thermometers could reach 32 °C, while the lowest minimum temperature is forecast for El Hierro, at around 21 °C.

The wind will blow from the north-east, generally moderate along the coasts, with stronger gusts in areas exposed to the trade winds. Inland areas will experience lighter and more variable winds. In mountainous zones, the wind will shift and blow from the west, remaining between light and moderate.
Forecast for Gran Canaria
In Gran Canaria, Aemet expects slightly cloudy conditions, again with intermittent high cloud. Temperatures will remain stable, although in many areas they may still reach 30 °C, and could even rise to 32 °C in the southern midlands and higher altitudes. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain mild, with approximately 19 °C on Lanzarote.

The north-easterly trade wind will continue to dominate, blowing moderately along the coast with occasional strong gusts in exposed areas, while remaining light and variable inland.
Despite being late October and November approaching, parts of the Canary Islands are set to experience weather that feels more like midsummer, with clear skies, high temperatures and persistent trade winds.
