The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a day of mixed and changing weather in the Canary Islands this Wednesday, with a combination of high clouds, light calima, possible showers and temperatures that in some areas could reach 32 °C.
According to Aemet, the morning will begin with mostly clear skies, along with high cloud cover and some low clouds along the northern coasts. As the day progresses, cloud cover will increase, becoming mostly cloudy on northern slopes, where light and occasional rainfall cannot be ruled out by late afternoon or evening.

Throughout the afternoon, cloud intervals will also develop on both the western and eastern sides of the islands. Mild calima (Saharan dust) is expected at mid-altitudes and higher elevations, gradually decreasing later in the day.
Temperatures and win
Temperatures will generally decrease moderately, and the drop will be most noticeable in mid-altitude and mountain areas. Forecast values:
- In Tenerife: maximum around 26 °C
- In El Hierro: minimum around 20 °C
- In northern mid-altitude areas of the eastern islands: temperatures may still locally reach 32 °C
Wind will blow from the north-west, moderate overall, with strong gusts possible on the north-eastern and western extremes of the islands. By the afternoon, winds will shift to a north-easterly direction.
Provincial forecast: Las Palmas

- Gran Canaria: Mostly clear skies with high clouds and some low clouds in the north during the morning. By the evening, the north side is expected to turn cloudy, with light calima in mid-altitude and high areas.
- Lanzarote and Fuerteventura: Mostly clear skies with intervals of cloud in the morning to the west, and later in the evening. A light haze at higher levels is also expected.
Temperatures will decrease moderately, especially in mid-altitude areas and high terrain in the north.
In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will range from 21 °C (minimum) to 25 °C (maximum).
Winds will blow from the north, moderate, with strong gusts at the eastern and western extremes of the islands. By the end of the day, they will shift to a north-easterly flow. short headline version
