Aemet’s forecast for the Canary Islands: drizzle and highs of 24°C

Aemet expects clearer skies across much of the archipelago, with only brief drizzle in northern areas and temperatures edging slightly higher.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) reports that Friday will begin with cloudy skies across the north and northeast of the islands, where occasional patches of drizzle may occur. These cloudy conditions are expected to gradually clear towards the end of the day.


Across the rest of the archipelago, the weather will be mostly bright and clear, although cloudier conditions may develop over the southwest during the afternoon, bringing the possibility of light, brief showers.

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures will remain largely unchanged, while maximum temperatures are set to rise slightly. Forecasts point to highs of around 24°C in Tenerife, with overnight lows dipping to about 14°C on El Hierro.

Wind

Winds will blow moderately from the northeast, with stronger intervals expected in the southeast and northwest, particularly later in the afternoon and evening.

Gran Canaria

The north of the island may see occasional drizzle during the late afternoon and evening, while the rest of Gran Canaria will experience clear or lightly cloudy skies throughout the day.

Lanzarote and Fuerteventura

Both islands will enjoy generally clear or slightly cloudy weather, with no significant rainfall expected. Minimum temperatures will remain steady, and maximum temperatures will rise a little. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, values will range from 20°C to 24°C.

Winds will again be moderate from the northeast, with strong gusts possible in southeastern and north-western areas later in the day.
