A day of cloudy intervals, light rain and a slight dip in temperatures is expected across the Canary Islands this Wednesday, 10 December 2025, according to the latest update from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMet). Weather conditions will vary between the two provinces, with a rather grey start to the day and clearer skies opening up in several areas by the afternoon.


Santa Cruz de Tenerife: a cloudy morning followed by brighter intervals

In the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the day will begin with light cloud at dawn, thickening through the morning, particularly in the northern areas of Tenerife. Localised light to moderate rain is possible, although any showers are expected to ease as the day progresses. By the afternoon, widespread clear spells should develop.

Temperatures:
A slight drop is forecast, with maximum temperatures close to 22°C in Tenerife and minimums falling to 14°C in El Hierro.

Wind:
Winds will start light from the north-west, shifting to a moderate north-easterly around midday, strengthening in more exposed zones.

In Gran Canaria, the morning will start with light cloud in the north, increasing to overcast skies with a chance of light, occasionally moderate rain. During the afternoon, wide clear spells are expected in northern areas. Elsewhere on the island, skies will range from lightly cloudy to mostly clear, with some cloudier intervals around midday.

In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, skies will be slightly cloudy at dawn but will become more overcast during the morning, bringing a risk of isolated light showers. Clearer conditions are forecast towards the late afternoon.

Temperatures:
A slight decrease is expected in northern Gran Canaria, especially in mid-altitude and highland regions. The south of the island will experience little change.
Throughout Gran Canaria, temperatures will range from 17°C to 22°C.

Wind:
Winds will be light and variable during the early hours, shifting to a moderate north-easterly from midday onwards.
