The Canary Islands begin the week under unstable conditions, marked by cloudy skies, persistent rainfall in the north of the higher islands, and the possibility of frost in mountain areas, according to the latest forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
Rain in the north, calmer conditions elsewhere
For this Monday, the northern slopes of the islands will experience predominantly cloudy skies, with light but persistent rainfall, which may become locally moderate in mid-altitude areas.
Across the rest of the archipelago, skies will remain mostly slightly cloudy, although cloudy intervals will develop on the western sides during the early hours of the day. In these western zones, light showers cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures: little movement but frost at high elevations

Temperatures will remain largely stable across the islands. However, light frosts are likely in the highest peaks, where colder air will make itself felt.
Forecasted temperatures include:
- Tenerife: maximum around 21°C
- El Hierro: minimum around 11°C
Wind: strong gusts expected in some areas
The north-easterly trade winds will blow with moderate intensity, strengthening notably in specific areas:
- Very strong gusts possible in the extreme southeast and west
- Strong winds also expected in mountain areas later in the day
- Breezes will dominate along the west coast
Island-by-island outlook

Gran Canaria
Northern areas will see cloudy skies with probable light and persistent rainfall, again with the possibility of moderate intensity in the midlands.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura
These islands will have cloudy intervals, with a low probability of light, scattered showers, mainly during the first half of the day.
In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will remain steady, ranging from 18°C to 22°C.
