The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has confirmed that weather warnings will remain in force this Saturday across the Canary Islands, as cooler temperatures, strong winds and unstable conditions continue to affect the archipelago. According to the latest forecast, conditions will gradually improve during the day, although several islands and specific areas will continue to experience adverse weather, particularly during the early hours.
Cloud cover easing later in the day
Skies across the islands will feature cloudy intervals, which are expected to clear progressively from midday onwards. An exception will be the western areas, where cloud cover is likely to persist for longer. Overall, the morning is expected to be the most unsettled period, with clearer conditions developing as the afternoon advances.
Falling temperatures and frost risk at higher elevations

Temperatures will register a slight to moderate drop across the archipelago, with the decrease being more pronounced in mid-altitude and mountainous areas. AEMET warns that light frosts may occur in summit areas, particularly on the higher islands. Forecast values indicate maximum temperatures of around 21°C in Tenerife, while minimums could fall to 11°C on El Hierro, highlighting the marked contrast between coastal and inland conditions.
Strong winds, especially on Tenerife
Wind will be another key factor on Saturday. Moderate northerly winds are expected in general, with intervals of strong wind and occasional very strong gusts, particularly on Tenerife. The areas most exposed include the north-west, the island ridge, high ground in the Güímar valley, Anaga, and parts of the southern metropolitan area, especially during the early morning hours.
In the central peaks of Tenerife, winds will blow strongly from the north, although they are expected to ease during the morning. By the afternoon, winds will shift to the north-east and gradually lose intensity.
Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura
On Gran Canaria, skies will remain cloudy at first, tending towards partly cloudy conditions from midday, except in the north-east, where cloudier conditions are likely to persist. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will see cloudy intervals dominating the morning, gradually becoming less cloudy as the day progresses.

Temperatures in the province of Las Palmas will also fall slightly to moderately, particularly in midland and mountain areas. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, thermometers are expected to range between 17°C and 21°C.
Wind conditions in the eastern province
Winds will blow moderately from the north to the north-east, with strong intervals in the south-east and north-west of Gran Canaria. AEMET does not rule out occasional very strong gusts in exposed peaks and in the high areas of the Tejeda and Tirajana basins, especially during the early morning. Wind intensity is expected to ease towards the evening.
Continued caution advised
AEMET recommends continued caution in mountainous and exposed areas, particularly during the morning hours, due to the combination of strong winds, lower temperatures and the risk of frost at altitude. While conditions are expected to improve later in the day, warnings remain in place as a reminder that winter instability is still present across the Canary Islands.
