Today’s weather in the Canary Islands, island by island: AEMET keeps warnings in place

Calmer conditions inland will contrast with hazardous seas, which remain the main concern throughout the day.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) is maintaining yellow (risk) and orange (significant risk) warnings for coastal conditions across the Canary Islands this Sunday, due to strong swells and high waves. The most adverse situation is expected in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, where waves of five to six metres may occur. On the remaining islands, the warning level remains yellow, with swells reaching four to five metres.

Away from the coast, the general weather pattern will be largely settled, with mostly clear skies, some morning cloud intervals, and temperatures remaining stable or falling slightly, particularly at night. Winds will be light from the north-east, becoming moderate at times on the eastern islands, while sea breezes will dominate along the coast.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid exposed coastal areas, follow official guidance, and stay informed as warnings remain in force throughout the day.
