Getting to and from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival without using a private car will once again be easier this year thanks to a major reinforcement of public transport services. Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa), the island’s public bus company, has announced a special mobility plan running from 13 to 21 February, designed to facilitate travel during the busiest Carnival days and nights while promoting safe and sustainable leisure.
The plan has been developed by Titsa, which operates under the Cabildo de Tenerife, and represents one of the largest public transport deployments ever organised for the Carnival.
Thousands of extra journeys and seats
During the Carnival period, Titsa will operate 4,200 additional bus services, providing more than 300,000 extra seats. Around twenty urban and interurban routes will be reinforced, improving connections between Santa Cruz de Tenerife and both the north and south of the island, as well as between different neighbourhoods within the capital itself.
The goal is to allow Carnival-goers to travel comfortably at any time of day or night, reducing traffic congestion and avoiding drink-driving risks.
Extra buses during Carnival nights

The special plan covers not only the main Carnival nights, but also key daytime events such as the Daytime Carnival, the Coso parade and the Burial of the Sardine.
On the busiest nights, Titsa will operate continuous overnight services on lines 014 and 015, which connect Santa Cruz de Tenerife with San Cristóbal de La Laguna, ensuring transport throughout the early hours of the morning.
Night-time services will also be significantly increased:
- To the north: lines 102, 104 and 108
- To the south: lines 111 and 711, connecting Santa Cruz with areas such as Costa Adeje
- Additional reinforcements will serve the Valle de Güímar and other strategic areas of the island
Within Santa Cruz, urban routes linking the city centre with neighbourhoods such as Ofra, La Gallega, Añaza, Taco, Barrio de la Salud and Santa María del Mar will also operate with increased frequency to meet higher demand.
Daytime Carnival and Coso: adjusted timetables

For the Daytime Carnival and the Coso parade, Titsa will adapt its operations by applying weekday timetables on many routes and adding extra services on the busiest lines.
- On Sunday 15 February and Saturday 21 February, both urban and interurban routes will receive additional reinforcements.
- On Tuesday 17 February, the day of the Coso, a working-day timetable without school services will be applied, with higher frequency on the main routes into the capital.
Passengers should note that some lines will temporarily alter their usual routes. For example, line 104 will not pass through the La Laguna Interchange during the Daytime Carnival.
Special services for the Burial of the Sardine
On Wednesday 18 February, additional services will be provided to coincide with the Burial of the Sardine, one of the most traditional Carnival events. Lines 014 and 015 will be reinforced according to demand, and extra journeys will be scheduled on several interurban and urban routes to facilitate the return home after the celebrations.
Security measures and 24-hour car parks

As in previous years, Titsa will deploy a special security operation at the Santa Cruz and La Laguna Interchanges, working in coordination with security forces and emergency services to ensure smooth and safe boarding and departures.
To further ease travel, both interchange car parks will remain open 24 hours a day on key Carnival nights. The Santa Cruz Interchange offers 1,421 parking spaces, while La Laguna provides 206 spaces, allowing drivers to leave their vehicles and continue their journey by bus.
A safer and more sustainable Carnival
With this extensive deployment, Titsa reinforces its commitment to a safer, more sustainable and accessible Carnival, encouraging both residents and visitors to rely on public transport during one of Tenerife’s most popular annual events.
All timetables, route changes and additional services can be consulted on the official Titsa website, via its customer service telephone line, and through its official social media channels.
