Tenerife has firmly established itself as a benchmark for artisan pizza in the Canary Islands. Coinciding with World Pizza Day on 9 February, the latest results from the Spanish Pizza Championship confirm a striking fact: the top three pizzas in the archipelago are all made on the island of Tenerife.
What makes this achievement particularly noteworthy is not only the quality and craftsmanship behind the award-winning pizzas, but also their affordability. None of the pizzas crowned in the competition costs more than €13, demonstrating that gastronomic excellence on the island remains accessible to a wide audience.
The winners’ podium: where to celebrate World Pizza Day

For those looking to mark the occasion with an outstanding pizza, these are the three establishments that have won over national judges and secured the top positions in the Canary Islands ranking.
1. Pizzería Carbone – Best pizza in the Canary Islands
Located in Adeje, Pizzería Carbone has claimed first place thanks to its signature creation, the Pacchianella (€12.50). This pizza stands out for its refined balance of flavours, combining homemade pumpkin cream, pancetta coppata and a final touch of fresh burrata pugliese.
The contrast between sweet and savoury elements delivers a distinctive and elegant result, making it one of the most memorable pizzas currently available in the south of Tenerife.
2. Terra Vía – Authentic flavours in the north
In the historic centre of La Orotava, Terra Vía has earned its place on the podium with the Essenza pizza (€12.90). This creation embraces the philosophy of simplicity that defines traditional Italian cuisine.

Prepared with artisan pre-fermented dough, the pizza features cherry tomatoes, fried aubergines and a rich homemade Parmesan cream. The result is a dish that highlights the quality of the ingredients while remaining faithful to classic Italian principles.
3. Pizzería Napulé – A Neapolitan classic
Completing the podium is Pizzería Napulé, also in Adeje, with its acclaimed 4 Stagioni (€11.90). A favourite among purists, this pizza showcases a dough made from a blend of Canarian and Italian flours, resulting in a light texture with a well-developed honeycomb structure.
Topped with ingredients such as grilled artichokes and fior di latte mozzarella, it offers a faithful interpretation of Neapolitan tradition, combining technical precision with authentic flavour.
Tenerife, a national reference for artisan pizza

The success of these pizzerias is far from accidental. Tenerife’s rise as a pizza destination is closely linked to a strong commitment to long fermentation processes, high-quality raw ingredients and professional training at prestigious Italian schools.
That the island occupies all three top positions in the regional ranking highlights the exceptional moment currently being experienced by Tenerife’s restaurant sector and reinforces its growing reputation at national level.
This 9 February, World Pizza Day provides the perfect excuse to support local businesses and enjoy a product that—recognised as part of the world’s gastronomic heritage—has found some of its finest ambassadors in Tenerife.
