The weather outlook for Sunday in the Canary Islands points to a generally stable scenario, but with a few nuances that require attention. According to the latest forecast from the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET), temperatures are set to rise, particularly across the eastern islands, while intervals of cloud and the possibility of light, scattered showers remain part of the picture.
Warmer conditions, especially in the east
The most noticeable change will be the increase in temperatures, which will be more pronounced in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. In these islands, maximum values are expected to climb significantly, especially in southern areas and on western slopes. In Arrecife, temperatures could reach up to 26°C, marking a notably warmer day compared to previous conditions.
Across the rest of the archipelago, temperatures will either remain stable or rise slightly, contributing to a generally mild and spring-like atmosphere.
Stable overall, but with localised showers

Despite the relative stability, the atmosphere will not be entirely settled. Skies will present intervals of cloud throughout the day, and on the higher islands—such as Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro—there remains a possibility of isolated and occasional showers, particularly during the afternoon and in inland or elevated areas.
These showers are expected to be light and irregular, but they may briefly affect visibility and outdoor plans in specific locations.
Wind and sea conditions
Winds will be generally light, blowing predominantly from the north across most areas. However, in higher altitudes, especially on mountain peaks, the flow may shift towards the south during parts of the day.
At sea, conditions will be somewhat less calm. A northerly swell will generate choppy to locally rough waters, with waves that could reach up to two metres in height. This may affect coastal areas and maritime activities.
Island-by-island outlook

Tenerife
The day will begin with partly cloudy skies. As the afternoon progresses, increased cloud cover may lead to occasional showers in inland areas. Temperatures in Santa Cruz de Tenerife are expected to range between 18°C and 24°C. Winds will be light from the north, with stronger gusts possible in the north-east and north-west.
La Palma
Conditions will be similar, with clouds developing later in the day and a chance of scattered showers. Temperatures will remain stable or rise slightly, with minimum values around 17°C in the capital. Winds at higher altitudes will tend to blow from the south during the first half of the day.
La Gomera and El Hierro
Generally clear skies will dominate, although some cloud may form in northern low-lying areas towards the evening. Valverde is expected to record one of the lowest minimum temperatures at around 12°C, while San Sebastián de La Gomera could reach highs of 23°C.
Gran Canaria

Partly cloudy skies are expected, with medium and high cloud layers present early in the day. Rising maximum temperatures will be more noticeable along the coast. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will range between 18°C and 22°C. Winds will be light and variable, with a northerly component along coastal areas.
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura
These islands will experience the most significant temperature increase. Skies will show intervals of medium and high cloud, while winds will shift towards the east around midday, gaining some strength inland.
A calm but changeable day ahead
Although the overall weather pattern remains stable, the combination of rising temperatures, intermittent cloud cover and the possibility of light showers highlights the variable nature of the forecast. Conditions may feel pleasant in many areas, but brief changes throughout the day should not be ruled out, particularly in inland and elevated regions.
