This Friday, 20 January, the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Autonomous Body for Festivities and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), will be holding the opening ceremony of Carnival 2023 in the Auditorium of Tenerife.
The event will begin at 21.30 and will be attended by the 36 candidates for the three categories of queens – children, adults and seniors – who will find out their order of participation by means of a draw which will take place during the show.
Emilia González will headline this first event of the carnival dedicated to the city of New York, which will also feature the dance groups of the Santa Cruz Carnival.
The Tenerife artist Jadel, performer of Suave, the official song of this year’s edition, will perform on the red carpet of a stage inspired by the most representative elements of the American metropolis.
During the show, the five presenters of the Children’s Gala, who were selected from more than twenty children at the casting held on Wednesday 11 January, will also be announced.
The inaugural show of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival will be directed by Enrique Camacho, and will be broadcast live on Canarian Regional Television for the whole of the Canary Islands.
