This Sunday, April 7th, the Canary Islands anticipate cloudy intervals in the northern slopes, with a chance of light showers in mountainous areas during the morning. Other areas will observe mostly cloudy conditions.

This Sunday, April 7th, the Canary Islands are expected to experience intervals of clouds on the northern slopes, with a slight chance of light and occasional showers in the mountainous regions during the first half of the day. Meanwhile, the rest of the areas will see generally cloudy skies.

Across Spain, an Atlantic front will move across the mainland from the west, resulting in unsettled weather with plenty of clouds and some rainfall. Temperatures are expected to decrease, according to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The passage of the front, potentially accompanied by isolated storms, is likely to affect western Andalusia, both plateaus, the eastern Cantabrian Sea, and the western Pyrenees. While it may also impact other regions, areas in the far east of the mainland and the Balearic Islands are expected to experience only intervals of medium and high clouds.

Additionally, a calima, characterized by the presence of fine particles such as dust or sand in the atmosphere, will affect much of the central and eastern parts of the mainland, as well as the Balearic Islands, with possible precipitation in the form of mud.

In the Balearic archipelago, a yellow alert (risk) has been issued until dawn due to strong winds—particularly in the mountains of Mallorca—and coastal phenomena. Meanwhile, the Canary Islands are expected to see intervals of clouds in the north, with potential rainfall in the more elevated islands, and partly cloudy conditions in the south.

Temperatures are anticipated to decrease overall, with regions in the west and central parts of the islands reaching around 20 degrees Celsius. However, temperatures may rise slightly in the Mediterranean area, with Palma, Almeria, and Lleida reaching around 30 degrees.

Wind patterns are expected to be southwest in Galicia, moderate west in the Strait of Gibraltar, north in the Canary Islands, and southeast in Aragon, Catalonia, and the Balearic Islands, with strong intervals and significant gusts likely in the mountains of Mallorca. In other parts of the country, winds will be light and variable in direction.
