Updated weather forecast for the Canary Islands on Friday

In its updated weather forecast, the State Meteorological Agency has reported a decrease in temperatures across the Canary Islands.

The updated weather forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for the Canary Islands this Friday predicts varied conditions across the region. In the north coast and the interior of the southern slopes of the islands, there will be intervals of cloudiness during the afternoon. Meanwhile, other areas are expected to experience lighter cloud cover.


Temperatures are anticipated to slightly decrease, with the daily highs ranging from a maximum of 24 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and San Sebastián de La Gomera to a minimum of 15 degrees in Santa Cruz de La Palma and Valverde.

The prevailing winds will be from the northeast, moderate in strength but shifting towards a lighter northerly direction by the end of the day. There is a possibility of stronger gusts on the northwest and southeast slopes of the more mountainous islands.

In Gran Canaria, conditions will be mostly clear with some cloudy intervals expected on the north coast, clearing up during the central hours of the day, and some afternoon cloud development in the inland southwestern regions.

Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are forecasted to enjoy generally clear skies. However, there will be a slight drop in temperatures across the islands, more noticeably in the southwest. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures will reach a high of 23°C and a low of 17°C.

Winds across these regions will continue to be moderate from the northeast, with the potential for some strong gusts on the southeast and west slopes.

Looking ahead to Sunday, while the weather is set to remain stable in the immediate future with cooler temperatures, there is rain expected, particularly in the northern parts of Tenerife and La Palma by the end of the day. Additionally, showers may develop over the interior southern slopes of Tenerife and Gran Canaria starting from midday.

This forecast suggests that Saturday might offer better weather conditions for outdoor activities compared to Sunday.
