The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) updates the weather forecast for Monday, May 6, across the Canary Islands. The day will begin and end with cloudy intervals in the low-lying northeast areas, while other regions will experience considerable high cloud cover throughout the day.


Temperature fluctuations will be minimal, with slight increases expected in the midlands and a minor decrease at higher elevations. Temperature ranges will vary from a high of 25 degrees in Tenerife to a low of 16 degrees in El Hierro.

Wind conditions will feature moderate northeastern breezes, intensifying on the southeastern slopes and the far northwest, particularly during the morning. Light and variable winds are expected at the central high peaks, becoming predominantly easterly towards the evening. The west coast will experience breezy conditions.

In Gran Canaria, similar patterns of cloudy intervals will occur in the lower northern and eastern areas during both the morning and late afternoon, while the rest of the island will see abundant high cloudiness.

Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will experience cloudy intervals along the east coast during the morning and again later in the day, as reported by AEMET.

There will be little change in maximum temperatures, while minimum temperatures may rise slightly. The southern midlands could see temperatures reaching 30-32ºC. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, temperatures are expected to range between a maximum of 24ºC and a minimum of 18ºC.

Winds will be moderate from the northeast, strengthening on the southeast and northwest slopes. At higher elevations, the wind will be light and predominantly easterly, with breezes expected along the southwest coasts.
