World’s best chef launches new food truck in Santa Cruz: explore the menu and pricing

Dabiz Muñoz, acclaimed as the world's best chef, has opened his new stall after it was initially immobilized by the local police in the capital due to lack of insurance.

This week marks the opening of Dabiz Muñoz’s new chicken food truck, “Pollos Muñoz,” located in the plaza of El Corte Inglés on Avenida Tres de Mayo in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The food truck, which offers an innovative culinary experience from the world-renowned chef, will be serving up delights on the island from April 29 until June 16. This launch follows a brief delay due to an immobilization by local police due to a lack of insurance.


Described by Muñoz himself as a “juicy, tasty, and extra-hypercrunchy” venture, Pollos Muñoz aims to make gourmet dining accessible, offering dishes at more affordable prices compared to his high-end restaurants. This venture encapsulates his commitment to sharing his culinary expertise widely.

Menu and Pricing at the New Food Truck by the World’s Best Chef:

  • Chicken Waffle: This dish features a free-range chicken thigh marinated in brine for 48 hours and fried to achieve a unique crispy texture. It is served with cheddar cheese, spicy mayonnaise, yuzu sauce with cherry tomato ketchup, crispy bacon, and gherkins. Priced at €17.50.
  • Chicken Burger: Comprising a similarly prepared chicken thigh, this burger is accompanied by gouda cheese, Mediterranean chipotle buffalo sauce, paprika from La Vera, Japanese tartar, and rocket. It is priced at €16.50.
  • Two-cooked Wings: These are free-range chicken wings served with a sweet and sour lemon sauce, truffle emulsion, and sesame, available for €12.
  • Shredded Potatoes with Lime and Tajin: Offered with a choice of aioli with lime, Cantonese barbecue with spices, mango with yellow chilli, or toasted butter sauce, these are priced at €5.50.
  • Pedroche Style Cheesecake: A unique take on the classic cheesecake, infused with Sichuan pepper, costing €11.
  • Molten Sponge Cake: A dessert of 70% Belgian dark chocolate with biscuit cream in milk, caramel, vanilla whipped cream, and yuzu, also priced at €11.
