Home delivery services have now extended to the sun-drenched beaches of the Canary Islands, making it even easier to enjoy a day by the sea without the hassle. Uber Eats, the renowned food and product delivery platform, has innovatively set up pick-up points at some of the most frequented beaches in Spain, including a notable spot on Las Canteras Beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
This initiative, first launched last summer due to its overwhelming success and high demand, is making a return this season. Last year, the service saw over a thousand orders at Las Canteras Beach alone, prompting Uber Eats to not only reintroduce the service in the Canary Islands but to expand it across other popular coastal destinations in Spain.
Ricardo Pabón, the marketing director of Uber Eats in Spain and Portugal, highlighted the expansion, saying, “This summer we aim to take our service to every corner of Spain. Our product catalogue is now accessible at some of the most iconic beaches, allowing beachgoers to order everything from sun cream to snacks without ever having to leave their towel.”
The service draws from a vast network of over 17,000 partnered restaurants and supermarkets, ensuring a wide variety of choices for users. The 10 Spanish beaches now featuring Uber Eats delivery services include:
- Canary Islands: Las Canteras Beach (Las Palmas)
- Majorca: Platja de Can Pere Antoni
- Ibiza: Platja d’En Bossa
- Alicante: Platja Llevant (Benidorm) and San Juan Playa
- Valencia: Platja Port Saplatja
- San Sebastián: La Concha Beach
- Costa Brava: Lloret de Mar Beach
- Murcia: Villananitos Beach
- Vigo: Praia de Samil
