Adeje hosts the 2nd Canary Islands Czech-Slovakian Ball

More than 250 people will share an evening of brotherhood between the communities of both countries that will take place this Saturday in Adeje, Tenerife.

The Gran Hotel Bahía del Duque, in Costa Adeje, will host this Saturday, 15 Abril, the II Czech-Slovak Canary Islands Ball, a charity event organised by the communities of the two Central European countries. After the great success of the first edition held in April 2019, before the pandemic, which was attended by more than 200 guests, including important businessmen from the tourism sector, Czech and Slovak celebrities, diplomats and local authorities.

The Czech-Slovak Benefit Ball is one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the two countries, inherited from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The best known event of this nature is undoubtedly the Vienna Opera Ball, but there is a wide variety of re-enactments held in places where the Czech and Slovak communities have special roots. In the case of Tenerife, the island has become one of the main destinations chosen by citizens of these nationalities to enjoy their holidays, to settle as residents, or to have a second family home.

This special gala is not only reserved for the Czech-Slovak community, but for all citizens interested in participating in an evening of dance and music, and above all, willing to collaborate with various charities, which will be the beneficiaries of the proceeds of the party.

This second edition of the ball is organised by the Association of Czechs and Slovaks in the Canary Islands in collaboration with the main tour operator of the Czech Republic, Canaria Travel, the Spanish-Czech Chamber of Commerce, and also has the support of the Embassies of the Czech Republic and Slovakia in Spain.

The event will be attended by an important diplomatic representation from both countries, as well as numerous local authorities. Also in attendance will be a delegation of European businessmen, well-known artists and musicians from the Czech Republic and a large number of local people, who still have time to purchase the last tickets to participate in the great gala to be held on Saturday evening in the emblematic hotel establishment in the south of Tenerife.
