Aemet clarifies if rain will affect the Canary Islands during the May long weekend

Temperatures could rise in the Canary Islands

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts varying cloud cover for this Tuesday, with predominantly cloudy skies expected in the north of the islands.

There is a possibility of light and sporadic showers on the northern slopes, most likely during the early morning hours.

Temperature-wise, there will be little change, although a slight increase is possible in elevated areas. Temperatures will vary from a high of 24 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz de Tenerife to a low of 12 degrees Celsius in Valverde.

Winds from the northeast will be strong at times, particularly on the southeast and northwest slopes, while breezes will prevail along the southwest coasts of the more mountainous islands.

Marine conditions will feature northeast winds at force 5, occasionally rising to force 6 offshore. The sea state will see a temporary increase to strong swell conditions offshore, with north or north-westerly swell ranging from 1 to 2 metres.
