La Laguna’s “La Noche en Blanco” event, set for 23 November, will introduce a much-requested service: lockers for storing purchases, allowing attendees to enjoy the festivities unencumbered. These lockers will be stationed at key locations, including the La Laguna Zona Comercial Abierta (LLZC) on Calle Obispo Rey Redondo, 34, and the Caja Escape Room on Calle Herradores, 23. Attendees can deposit items from 10:00 to 00:00 on the day and collect them until Monday, 25 November, during regular business hours.
Estefanía Díaz, the mayor of Commerce, explained that the initiative aims to enhance the shopping experience by enabling visitors to explore the city’s rich programme—comprising cultural exhibitions, street performances, concerts, sports, food, and recreational activities—without being burdened by bags. “The real stars of La Noche en Blanco are our local shopkeepers,” said Díaz, highlighting that many stores will extend their hours until midnight and offer special promotions.
The locker service is a collaborative effort, conceived through the “Color on White” White Night Forum with input from local businesses and community stakeholders. This solution offers a dual benefit: attendees can shop, store items, and immerse themselves in the event, while retailers can see increased traffic from visitors who are free to make multiple stops without managing bags.
Iván Pérez, president of LLZC, affirmed that La Noche en Blanco boosts La Laguna’s economy and reputation. “This locker system marks a logistical advancement, enabling visitors to comfortably explore our local commerce and culture,” said Pérez, emphasising the initiative’s role in promoting both economic and social development. He also pointed out that it allows businesses to showcase their unique identities, connect with new customers, and share the quality of their brands with attendees.
