Weather forecast for the Canary Islands: How high will the thermometers rise?

The Canary Islands will be the only region of Spain where the minimum temperatures are expected to remain stable, with no drop.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a warning for high temperatures expected tomorrow across the Canary Islands, with a notable increase anticipated, particularly on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

Maximum temperatures are forecasted to reach up to 32 degrees Celsius on these islands, with temperatures as high as 30 degrees Celsius possible on the northwest coast of the metropolitan area and in the southeastern lowlands of Tenerife.

Uniquely, the Canary Islands will not experience any drop in minimum temperatures compared to other regions in the country.

The weather on Wednesday will be characterized by high cloud cover with some intervals of medium clouds over the western islands.

Aemet also advises that moderate trade winds will prevail, blowing from the east to northeast on the western islands and from the northeast on the eastern islands, with strong gusts in areas typically affected by accelerated trade winds. At higher elevations, winds will be light and variable in direction.

Regarding maritime conditions, easterly and northeasterly winds will reach force 4 or 5, increasing to 5 or 6 with swells and locally strong swells. On the west, south, and southwest coasts, conditions will vary, with winds ranging from force 1 to 3 or 2 to 3, accompanied by breezes and either swell or rough seas. Waves from the north or northeast will be around one metre high.
